Start with the job, not the hourly headline
A useful man and van price needs a defined job. Write down both addresses, the date, the items and who will help carry them. Two moves with the same mileage can take very different amounts of time if one has a lift and nearby parking while the other has several flights of stairs. A low advertised starting rate may not describe your total cost.
The components to compare
Ask how the price treats travel, vehicle size, loading time and helpers. Check whether the journey back to base, parking, tolls or waiting time is included. If the quote is hourly, ask when the clock starts and ends, whether there is a minimum booking and how additional time is charged. A fixed price also needs an agreed inventory and access description.
Make your quote request useful
Send an item list with measurements of the largest pieces and photographs of awkward shapes. Explain both properties’ floors, lift access, doorways and parking. State whether anything needs packing or dismantling. Comparing operators becomes easier when everyone prices the same scope rather than filling gaps with different assumptions.
Plan your next step
An online quote can help you organise the details, but it is only as accurate as the information supplied. C3Moves builds each quote from the route, load, vehicle, access and timing information supplied. Build your inventory first, then review the full breakdown and any exclusions before booking.
