Compare both sets of dates
Your current room may need to be empty before the next keys are available. Write down exact move-out and check-in times. Do not book a van around an assumed same-day handover until both properties have confirmed access.
Plan for any gap
If there is a period between rooms, consider where your belongings can be held and who can accept them. Storage is a separate arrangement that may introduce another collection and different access requirements. Include those stops in your request.
Understand each building
Ask about vehicle restrictions, loading areas, lift sizes and room access. A city-centre building and a campus hall can need different plans. Name the correct entrance and give the person coordinating the move the building instructions.
Keep the final day manageable
Pack early enough to check your room before leaving. Keep keys, chargers and essential items in a bag that stays with you. At the new place, place boxes by destination rather than blocking access for other arrivals.
